Foxy Bingo donates generously to Comic Relief - Online Bingo News

Foxy Bingo recently handed over an extremely handsome cheque for £150,000 to British charity organisation Comic Relief. The funds were raised in a massive online bingo promotion on the site earlier this year for the annual Red Nose Day events.

Leading internet bingo site Foxy Bingo kept the promotion very simple. All that members needed to do was login and play a number of special online bingo games during the event. Every penny spent on bingo tickets for these special games would be matched by the popular online bingo site, and the total amount raised would be donated to Comic Relief.

Many Foxy Bingo members stepped up and the special Comic Relief bingo games at Foxy Bingo were packed to the brim, enabling the online bingo site to donate an incredible amount of £150,000 to the charity.

Comic Relief was founded by comedy script writer Richard Curtis in 1985 with the aim of helping famine victims in Ethiopia. All donations made to Comic Relief are spent on various charitable projects. The operational costs of Comic Relief like staff salaries, etc. are paid out of corporate sponsorships. Thus the donations go straight to the causes for which they are collected.

Red Nose Day is celebrated every other year in spring. This is one of the main fund raising events of Comic Relief and includes TV shows and many other events. In the spirit of the name of this special day people go around sporting plastic or foam red noses.

Foxy Bingo has made a very large donation to this charity and by running the special charity bingo promotions on its website has used its resources well to increase both general awareness, and much-needed funding, for this worthy charity.
