Democrat Barney Frank's HR6870 bill calling for the legal definition of internet gambling, including online bingo, casino, poker and sportsbook websites, had been due to be voted on this week.

The bill had already been passed by the Financial Services Committee but the more pressing matter of the credit crisis in the USA commandeered the House floor, leaving the bill pending for the attention of the new Congress in 2009.
