Betsson post good second quarter - Online Bingo News
Despite Sweden’s continued support of a gambling monopoly, private Swedish gambling company Betsson has managed to release good second quarter results after the opening of its land betting shop in Stockholm this year.
Betsson posted a 63% jump in revenues to SEK 236.9 million with operating income rising to 29% to SEK 60.1 million.
Online casino operations brought in 102% gross profit increases but the real profits increases was in the 274% jump in Betsson’s sportsbook.
The online bingo games market in Sweden is one of the fastest growing markets in Europe, but UK online bingo halls and non-Swedish operators of bingo online are currently restricted due to protectionist policies.
