Court decision on Betcha.com delayed for a week - Online Bingo News

A Seattle-based online betting entrepreneur currently awaiting possible extradition to the US state of Louisiana will have to wait a further week to see if he will face charges for profiting by 70 cents on a betting transaction.

Nick Jenkins, the owner of the now defunct Betcha.com betting site is facing prosecution after a confrontation with Washington State gambling officials concerning the legality of his site.

Effectively out of business now thanks to the said officials, Jenkin’s Betcha.com story is fast becoming a beacon for everything that is wrong with current US online gambling policy.  For many online bingo halls and operators of free online bingo games the US market is now a closed entity and cases such as the Betcha.com saga serve to illustrate just how dodgy it is to have anything to do with the US at this time.

Jenkins has maintained that Betcha.com operated legally because it functioned only as a gambling forum and did not bank games.  Currently, the US’ Unlawful Internet Gambling Enfocement Act prohibits non-US bingo online operators from doing business in the US.
