Playtech revenues approach pre-UIGEA days - Online Bingo News

Playtech, an online gambling software development company popular with many online bingo hall operators, has released figures that show it is on its way to full recovery from the hit it took on the implementation of the US’controversial Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA).
Only $ 2.2 million short of figures achieved before UIGEA, the company’s first half-of-the-year figures show an 80% jump in all non-US revenues,
For the record, Playtech’s revenue in the first half of this year climbed to $44 million from $24.5 million. IN the previous year, which included US income, Playtech took in $46.2 million.
Playtech products make an important contribution to the online bingo industry with many online bingo games taking the company’s software as their primary platform system. For the online bingo industry as a whole, Palytech’s results will be encouraging in that they represent a positive post-UIGEA life for the online gambling industry.
"Playtech has a very healthy pipeline of new business for the second half of the year and we look forward to making continuing strong progress," said Playtech CEO Mor Weizer. "We see internal growth of our existing licensees and we are currently piloting with a potential Asian licensee for Asian player to player games which is a huge opportunity for us."
Confirming the company’s influence in the online bingo market, Weizer added that some European licensees were adding new bingo online games to their portfolios.
